John Dalton Shaw is a member of the bar in both Arizona and California, the Arizona Trial Lawyers Association, and the American Trial Lawyers Association.
He earned the Juris Doctor from the University of Arizona College of Law in 1978 and the Bachelor of Arts in 1974. He served nearly five years in the Judge Advocate General (JAG) Corps of the U. S. Army as defense counsel, representing soldiers in court martial hearings and directing the Legal Defense Office.
He opened his own office in Phoenix in 1987, after spending nearly five years with the firm of Martinez and Curtis, where he focused on civil litigation. As U.S. citizen, he was born in Mexico, and spent his early childhood on a farm. He and his wife have four daughters and one son, and have lived in Phoenix since 1983.
